Be prepared! Vernacare offers free samples of ‘wonder wipe’

Safer More Effective

Certified effective against the H1N1 (swine flu)

As the healthcare sector prepares for a Swine Flu pandemic, Infection prevention products company Vernacare is offering free samples of its Tuffie 5 cleaning and disinfecting wipe, which is scientifically proven to eradicate the Swine Flu virus, as well as Norovirus, C. Diff and MRSA.

Chris Socratous, Product Manager for Vernacare, said: "Many Trusts are using Tuffie 5 as a simple and effective method of cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces and equipment - with complete confidence in the scientific proof that it destroys all five major groups of pathogens, including the H1N1 virus, on initial impact.

"On busy wards, this pre-impregnated wet wipe saves valuable nurse time spent preparing chlorine based disinfecting solutions. What's more, industry tests show that the wipe's disinfecting properties continue to work after cleaning has taken place."

The versatile wipe has been rigorously assessed in independent laboratory tests that have certified the wipe effective against the H1N1 (swine flu) virus to EN14476 standard.

Results show the product is significantly safer and more effective than existing alcohol based products. All pathogens tested have been reduced by Log 4 or greater against BSEN standards, meaning 99.99% of bacteria, including C.Diff, have been destroyed.

The wipes are fragrance, chlorine and alcohol free, and are cosmetically approved to EU standards as skin safe.

Added Chris Socratous: "This is a simple and effective solution that can help frontline staff deal a fatal blow to infection. We see Tuffie 5 as making an important contribution to strategies to combat swine flu in hospitals and through out the NHS. We are offering free samples to give infection prevention teams a hand in promoting cleaner, safer environments."
